Ans:- The boy failed to snatch the purse of the woman, because the combine weight of the boy and the bag caused the boy to lose his balance on fall on his back on the road side.
02.Q:- What did the woman do with the snatcher?
Ans:- The woman turned around simply, kicked the boy and picked him up by his shirt front and shook him until his teeth rattled.

Ans:- Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones, the main character of the short story "Thank You Ma'am", is a tall, healthy, bulky and elderly lady. She is a smart, kind and wise woman. She works in a hotel beauty shop and has to return late at night. She cannot tell Roger about past life, because it was not pleasant for her. She realizes that most of misdeeds(a bad and illegal work) are committed out of the demand of situation. She is a quick discoverer of human character. So, she realizes that Roger is hungry. To rectify Roger, She advises him to wash his dirty face and comb his hair and cooks supper for him and gives him ten Doller to buy a pair of blue sued shoes. Roger was deeply impressed by her kind and motherhood treatment.
02. Q:- Why did Roger not tried to run away later although he had opportunity to do so?

In the story "Thank You Ma'am" finally Roger expressed his gratitude to Mrs. Jones by thanking her.

By this time the boy had understood that the lady had not intention to put him into jail or punish him. He could easy escaped with the purse. But he did not like to be mistrust her.

Ans:- No, the boy was not really sorry. The boy was caught red-handed and kicked by the woman during latching her purse. She picked the boy up by his shirt front and shook him. The the boy begged the woman by saying that he was very sorry for latching her purse and he begged her to release him.

Ans:- When the woman was walking along the road alone at around 11:00 O' clock at night, a boy tried to latch he purse, but he lose his balance and fall on his back on the side walk and he was caught red-handed by the woman. She held the boy tightly so, that he couldn't run away. The woman wanted to rectify him by her kind and motherhood treatment. The woman asked him if he would run away if she turned him loose then the boy replied that if she would release him, he would run away. Then she replied the boy, "Then I won't turn you loose."
05. "The woman did not watch the boy the boy to see if he was going to run now, nor did she watch her purse, which she left behind her on the day-bed."
Q:- Why did not the woman watch the boy any more?
Ans:- Mrs. Jones had understood that Roger was ashamed of misdeed. She did not want to mistrust him any more. Roger was not a thief in her eyes. She released that most of his the misdeed are committed out of the demand of the situation so, she did not inform the police. When to cook for him, she left her purse on the day-bed. That is why she did not watch him while cooking.

In real sense, Mrs. Jones wanted to rectify the boy.
